An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a thorough health check of your property’s electrical installation to make sure it’s safe, compliant and fit for continued use.

What does a commercial EICR Bristol include?
A commercial EICR Bristol is much more than simply checking whether the lights switch on. The inspection looks at the condition of your entire electrical installation to identify wear and tear, damage, ageing components or anything that could pose a safety risk.

C2 – Potentially dangerous – The installation isn’t immediately dangerous but could become unsafe and should be repaired as soon as possible.
C3 – Improvement recommended – The installation is generally safe but doesn’t meet current standards. Improvements are recommended but aren’t usually essential
FI – Further investigation required – Something has been identified that needs additional investigation before the installation can be confirmed as safe.

We recently completed a commercial EICR Bristol for a small office on Corn Street in Bristol city centre. It was the customer’s first EICR and while the office has been operating without any obvious issues, the inspection uncovered several areas that needed attention.
The existing fuseboard didn’t have RCD protection, resulting in a C2 observation as it was considered potentially dangerous. We also found several overloaded sockets where multiple pieces of office equipment had been connected, which received a C3 recommendation. During testing we also identified wiring that had been altered over the years and couldn’t immediately be confirmed as safe so this was recorded as FI.
Because the customer wanted everything resolved quickly, we carried out the necessary work without delay, upgraded the installation where needed and brought the office up to the current UK safety standards, giving them complete peace of mind.
